Muchas veces vemos que, a nuestros alumnos, es la parte oral del examen del Cambridge First certficate o Advanced la que les pone más nerviosos. Sin embargo, ¡suele ser la que mejor hacen! Se ponen nerviosos porque tienen que hacerlo delante de dos examinadores y, con el estrés del momento, piensan que van a olvidar todo su inglés o tener un ataque de pánico. Si están bien preparados y han practicado mucho, eso no les pasará. Por eso, aquí te vamos a enseñar unos trucos para sacar la mejor nota posible en el Speaking exam: Parts 1 + 2.

*Hay dos candidatos + dos examinadores (pero solo uno habla).

First part:  (3 mins)

Aquí te van a hacer (individualmente) unas 3 o 4 preguntas sobre tu vida:

e.g. Family, studies, work, neighbourhood, English studies, hobbies.

First impressions count! Así que es importante que empieces fuerte y con seguridad. Lo mejor es preparar unas respuestas YA, antes de ir, e intentar incluir un buen vocabulario.

e.g. Well, actually, I was born and bred in Madrid. I’ve lived in the same neighbourhood all my life and I love it.

Well, let me see, I love playing any sport really but I’m particularly into basketball and train 3 times a week.

Well, right now, I’m finishing my degree in law and in the future I hope to find a job in a big company.

Well, it actually feels like I’ve been studying English all my life! But mainly at school and recently in an academy.

Second part:  

En esta parte tendrás que hablar sobre unas fotos (dos en First certifícate y en Advanced debes elegir dos de entre tres fotos).

Cada candidato deberá hablar durante un minuto. 

*Es importante hacerlo durante todo el tiempo – ¡no pares hasta que el examinador te lo diga!

Acuérdate de que es tu interpretación de las fotos – no hay respuestas correctas o falsas.

Estas son unas estructuras genéricas que puedes y debes usar en esta parte. ¡Apréndelas YA!

 

“Ok, so in the top photo, we can see a type of market and it looks like an Asian country.”

“Well, as far as I can make out, It seems to be a train station.”

“So, I’d say this was a birthday party. The people appear to be having a great time.”

“From what I can see, it might be a workplace.”

“In the photo on the left, there seem to be families who are having a meal together.” 

“In the bottom photo, the man looks like he’s having great fun.”

“In both photos, I can see people who appear to be doing sports.”

 

Answer the question on the sheet! 

Encima de las fotos hay una pregunta que tienes que contestar. No olvides leerla y contestar.

TIPS: 

  • Smile and maintain eye contact with the examiner and your partner. Be friendly! (Body language is important!)
  • Don’t speak either too fast or too slow.
  • If you run out of thigs to say about the photos and you have time left, say something like: “Well, personally, I enjoy …..”

Después de que tu compañero hable sobre sus fotos, te harán una pregunta corta a ti:

 

e.g.” Ana, who do you think will be enjoying this the most?” 

       “Juan, do you like spending time at the beach?”

 

La respuesta ideal aquí es una frase también corta (pero no solo una palabra).

e.g. “Well, I agree with Sara and I think the girls at the top seem to be having the most fun.”

        “Actually, yes I do – I love going on holiday to the beach and try to go at least once a year.”

Si has practicado cómo hacer estas partes antes en una buena academia como Cambridge House, no vas a tener problema. Nuestros alumnos no suelen suspender esta parte del examen. 

Intenta evitar los siguientes fallos típicos:
