En estos tiempos de muchos cambios políticos y falta de acuerdos, más que nunca tenemos que saber cómo hablar de nuestras opiniones, pero también como escuchar a los demás, ¿verdad?
En Talking with Cambridge House, os enseñamos cómo proponer tus puntos de vista y también cómo escuchar a otros, manteniendo un diálogo civilizado y educado en beneficio de todos. En estos tiempos, más que nunca, nos parece una habilidad necesaria y democrática. Practicar a hacerlo en inglés, o en cualquier idioma, tiene que ser bueno para que mantengamos una sociedad tranquila y civilizada.
En nuestras clases, os enseñamos a usar estructuras para proponer ideas, maneras de interrumpir con educación y expresar que estás o no de acuerdo. Pero, para hacer esto bien, hay que saber esperar tu turno y escuchar bien lo dice la otra persona, para poder contestar y decir tu propio punto de vista.
Giving your opinion:
Well, in my opinion … As far as I’m concerned …. As for me ……
I certainly believe that …. I really do think that …. From my point of view ….
Interrupting:
Yes, I see what you mean but have you considered …… Excuse me a moment….
Can I interrupt here? Could I say something here? Sorry, but I think ….
Agreeing / Disagreeing:
Yes, I totally agree. Well, I agree up to a point. Absolutely, you’re right there!
Well, I’m sorry, but I disagree. I totally disagree. I think you’re wrong there.
That’s rubbish! I can’t agree with you there. I see where you’re coming from but ……
En Cambridge House, preparamos los exámenes de Cambridge: First Certificate (B2), Advanced (C1) y Proficiency (C2). En estos exámenes, hay una parte oral donde tienes que hablar con un compañero, delante de dos examinadores.
Speaking Exam:
Part One:
Contestar preguntas generales sobre tu vida: ej. familia, hobbies, trabajo, estudios, planes de futuro.
Aquí, lo puedes preparar un poco de antemano porque sabes que van a surgir estos temas y preparas algunas buenas construcciones y vocabulario y frases hechas.
e.g. Well, actually, I’ve lived here all my life. As a matter of fact, I really enjoy reading.
Well, for me, I particularly like walking in the mountains. In the future, I hope to work abroad.
Part Two: (Describing photos)
In the top photo, we can see …. In the photo on the left there are two girls talking.
In one photo, a man is drinking, whilst in the other photo, there is a man who is eating.
In both photos, we are seeing a work situation.
Well, personally, I prefer to read, rather than study.
Part Three: (Discussing something in pairs)
Ok, let’s get going then, shall we? Would you like to kick off?
Well, in my opinion …. As for this one, I think …. What do you think?
Do you agree? Shall we agree to disagree? What do you think about ….?
